Discover 15 new and updated EOR Evaluation Reports from across the globe.
Highlights Include:
Foster Creek Field (Canada) – Pad C Project – Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD)
A highly successful SAGD project targeting 500,000 cP extremely heavy oil, with an expected ultimate recovery factor of 95% and low steam utilization of <2.0 BW-CWE/BO. Effective monitoring, placing more well pairs on blow-down to transfer steam to new wells, and using wedge wells to capture production in areas with poor conformance all contributed to the high recovery factor.
Kelamayi Field (China) – VII Central Block Pilot – Microbial Flood
This successful microbial flood project achieved an incremental recovery factor of 6.2%, alongside a maximum water cut drop of 10.9%. The pilot demonstrated the feasibility of using indigenous microbial flood in conglomerate reservoirs provided several advantages, including lower costs, environmental friendliness, process simplicity, and the absence of formation damage.
Kalamkas Field (Kazakhstan) – Two-Pattern Pilot – Polymer Flood
Targeting 23 cP oil, this polymer flood project markedly reversed the declining production trend by waterflood with a 7.6% drop in water-cut and 1.45 kg/BO of polymer utilization. It is expected to achieve an incremental recovery of 9.3% STOIIP, proving this pilot to be both technically viable and economically profitable.
South Belridge Field (USA) – Single Pattern Pilot – In-Situ Combustion
The in-situ combustion pilot was technically successful with an incremental recovery factor of 54.2% at a cumulative air-to-oil ratio of 19 MCF/BO, representing an exceptionally high recovery at a small scale with favorable conditions.
Wilmington Field (USA) – Block VII Pilot – Alkaline Flood
Although the pilot mitigated the rise in water-cut, it was expected to achieve an incremental recovery factor of just 1.9%. This was due to the high consumption of alkaline fluids and the formation of carbonate and silicate scales in the wellbore. This rarely documented failure case provides an analogy and lessons learned for other similar EOR attempts, helping prevent the issues that occurred in this project.
Packed with valuable insights into EOR strategies, our reports provide clear, in-depth documentation on how specific EOR methods impact production performance, serving as powerful analogues for benchmarking your own projects.
Inside the DAKS EOR Module
The DAKS™ Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Module has been designed to optimize the screening of EOR methods to maximize recovery and address common industry challenges encountered when conducting EOR.
