C&C Reservoirs latest EOR content release includes 20 EOR Evaluation Reports.
Highlights Include:
Big Gully North Field (Canada) – K-Pad Pilot – Polymer Flood
This EOR pilot achieved a 14% incremental recovery of STOIIP, successfully demonstrating the effectiveness of polymer flooding through horizontal wells in an undeveloped heavy oil reservoir (with a viscosity of 2600 cP at reservoir conditions) and a low reservoir temperature of 71.8 °F. The success was driven by a combination of laboratory experiments, core flood test, analogue analysis, reservoir simulation study, and injection performance monitoring.
Daqing – North Saertu (China) – Eastern Transition Zone Pilot – Microbial Flood
Targeting the relatively thin and low permeability reservoir sands, this EOR project is expected to achieve an incremental recovery of 3% STOIIP with a microbial utilization of 3.07 barrels/BO. The microbial flood process resulted in increased injection pressure, reduced interfacial tension, increased organic acid concentration and evident emulsification in produced liquid.
Emeraude Field (Republic of the Congo) – R2 One-Pattern Pilot – Continuous Steam Injection
This successful EOR pilot targeted shallow offshore heavy oil with a viscosity of 100 cP, aiming for an incremental recovery of 40.5% STOIIP over primary production, at a steam utilization rate of 1.3 BW-CUW/BO. The use of vacuum-insulated tubing has improved economics, making the large-scale application of steam injection more feasible.
Ivanic Field (Croatia) – 3-Well Pilot – CO₂ WAG Miscible Flood
This EOR pilot achieved an incremental recovery of only 0.85% STOIIP with an average well incremental EUR of 18.2 MBO and a gross CO₂ utilization of 15 MCF/BO. The project’s underperformance can be attributed to two main factors: the low CO₂ injection volume and the sub-miscible conditions.
Usa/Usinskoye Field (Russia) – PTV-3 Partial Application – Continuous Steam Injection
This EOR project, targeting 710 cP heavy oil, is expected to achieve an incremental recovery of 19.3% STOIIP. The success was driven by injection performance monitoring, intermittent steam injection, and a combination of steam and chemical injection.
C&C Reservoirs’ EOR Evaluation Reports provide complete documentation on the EOR methods proven to be effective in improving field production performance, recording the lessons learned and best practices within the context of EOR over the lifespan of a field or reservoir.
